GOVERNOR PARSON SIGNS SB 262 INTO LAW

Governor Mike Parson on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, signed into law SB 262, increasing the motor fuel tax in Missouri to 29.5 cents by 2025.  SITE participated in the bill signing event, here in St. Louis, and was extensively involved in the legislative efforts to increase the much needed funding for road and bridge construction in Missouri.  The legislation incrementally increases the gas tax by 2.5 cents annually beginning on October 1 of this year, with the funds earmarked for road and bridge repairs. Subsequent increases are effective on July 1 each year, beginning in 2022, with the final increase taking effect July 1, 2025.  The Missouri House of Representatives approved the legislation in the final week of session in May.
